Featured Article: The IcebreakerThe Icebreaker is one of the crown jewels of the World Stock Car Championship, held at Thompson Speedway in Thompson, Connecticut. First run in 1946, the race was the first race sanctioned under what is currently known as the World Stock Car Championship during its inaugural season in 1950. The Icebreaker has long been considered the premier event for stock car racing, as it has held the opening spot on the World Stock Car Racing calendar since 1981; it previously held the same slot from 1950 until 1968.
