Beech Ridge Motor Speedway was a 1/3-mile paved oval track located near a horse racing track in Scarborough, Maine. The track opened to the public in 1949 and operated weekly racing until its closure in 2021.
History[edit | edit source]
The track was first opened in 1949 by a former airplane mechanic. It began hosting stock car racing in 1951, and played host to multiple World Stock Car Championship events throughout the 1950's.
The facility was purchased in 1977 by Martin Wilder, son of former driver Chuck Wilder, who considered Beech Ridge his home track. The Wilder family announced that the track would be sold to developers after the 2021 racing season and permanently closed.
