J.R. Moon Junior Johnson Birthdate and background are identical. "JR" is a stand-in for Junior, and Moon is a reference to his Midnight Moon moonshine.
Curtis Rowland Roger Penske Birthdate and background are identical.

Ricardo Arnaz I Love Lucy Specifically, to Ricky Ricardo and actor Desi Arnaz. Ricardo Arnaz shares a birthday and hometown with Desi Arnaz.
Rusty Diamond Joan Baez The song Diamonds and Rust, originally written by Baez and covered by Judas Priest. Birthday is shared with Baez, while the birth year (1964) is the same year of her relationship with Bob Dylan which inspired the song.
Elmer Hunter Looney Tunes Elmer Fudd; Hunter's birthdate is March 2, 1940, the date that Elmer's Candid Camera (the first cartoon with the redesigned Elmer Fudd) was released
Billy McAllister Bobbie Gentry Ode to Billie Joe; McAllister's birthday and hometown are shared with Gentry.
Tommy Petersen Ray Petersen The song "Tell Laura I Love Her", Petersen's #1 hit from 1960. Tommy Petersen's birthday and hometown, April 23/Denton, TX, are the same as Ray Petersen. Tommy's death at a NSCS race is a direct reference to the song.
John Rose Schitt's Creek A reference to Johnny Rose, patriarch of the Rose family, as portrayed by Eugene Levy.
Ian Roswell TM Universe A reference to the TM Master Cup Series. Birthdate, July 1, was the date in 2007 that the first TMMC video was posted on YouTube.
Pablo Sanchez Backyard Baseball Sanchez's birthday, October 24, 1997, is the release date of Backyard Baseballl; Sanchez only speaks Spanish in the game, and is depicted as a Spaniard here.
Arnold Shortman Hey Arnold! The title character. Birth details are the same, and much of his life is derived from what is shown or implied on the show.
Phil Shortman Grandpa Phil. Birth year is the same, and Shortman drives a similar green Packard in his first appearances
