The SC-4 Western Canadian Championship (Fr: Championnat de l'Ouest Canadien) is a stock car racing championship run under the guidance of the World Stock Car Association and its affiliate, the Canadian Stock Car League (CSCL). It was preceded by the SC-4 Canadian Championship, which ran from 2013 until 2016.

History[edit | edit source]

In 2012, the World Stock Car Association unveiled the updated WSCC Global Pathway, intended to bridge the gap from junior series to international stock car racing; the first step was to create the developmental tier of stock car racing, which would be regionally focused to enable driver development.

The CSCL announced in June 2012 that the Canadian Stock Car Tour would be reformatted; its Junior Series would be split off and form the SC-4 Canadian Championship, while the main series would remain independent.

Honda was named the series' official partner in 2012.

Prior to the start of the 2016 season, series director Fredric Carpentier announced the series would split into Eastern and Western divisions, similar to the SC-4 United States championships, beginning with the 2017 racing season. The Western Division would be open to teams based in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, the Northern Territories, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon Territory.
