The Silver Arrows is a colloquial name for German racing teams or manufacturers who use silver as their primary livery color. Silver is traditionally used by Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, whereas BMW and Audi are known for primarily white livery designs; however, Audi has recently begun using silver in some series.
The Silver Arrows liveries are most prominent in open wheel and endurance racing, whereas the predominantly white liveries of BMW are better known to stock car racing fans due to BMW's history in stock car racing dating back to the 1980's.
