Wall Stadium Speedway (also known briefly as Wall Township Speedway) is a 1/3-mile, high banked (30° in corners) paved oval track in Wall Township, New Jersey, United States. The track opened to the public in the spring of 1950 and has operated for at least a part of every year since.
History[edit | edit source]
Track founder John Mitchell built the 1/3 mile oval after attending stock car races throughout the Northeast in the 1940's. He purchased 55 acres off of New Jersey Route 34 and built the track, which had a then unheard-of 15 degrees of banking. The course opened in 1950, and would host its first major series in 1951, when the National Stock Car Series ran at the track for the first time.
