Pukekohe Park Raceway is a multi-use venue, currently home to horse racing, motor racing and several community events & activities in the city of Pukekohe, New Zealand. It is located 40 kilometres (24.9 mi) south of Auckland City in the North Island. The venue is used seven days a week for horse training, driver training, motor sport events, cycling and various events and functions.

History[edit | edit source]

The Raceway was opened in 1963 as a permanent track, replacing Ardmore (an aerodrome) as the host circuit of the New Zealand Grand Prix. Annually for several years, the mainly European-based Grand Prix drivers would head to the circuit for a relaxed local series during the European winter.

Pukekohe Park held one World Stock Car Championship race in 1997, but poor attendance and track conditions lead the series to decline the option to return the following year. The track would again host the series starting in 2009 after a significant number of safety and facilities upgrades.

The track hosted the Pacific Championship from 1981 until 2004; despite several successful attempts to secure sponsorship, the track has been unable to secure a new date on the calendar, leading some fans to believe Teretonga Park Raceway may be involved.
