Trevor David Richmond is an American racing driver currently competing in the World Stock Car Championship.

Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]

Trevor Richmond was born in Hemet, California to David and Olivia (née Horowitz); the family moved to Bakersfield when Trevor was two years old. His father was a reconstructive surgeon at the burn center at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, and his mother owned and operated two small bakeries in downtown Bakersfield. Richmond and his two older brothers, John and Sam, were often cared for by their maternal uncle Marty, a retired WSCC driver, and his wife June due to their parents' busy professional lives.

Richmond attended Ridgeview High School, where he was a three-sport varsity athlete (cross-country, wrestling, and track-and-field). He was also active in the photography club and graduated in 2002. He missed his senior prom to run WSCC Lites races.

With help from his uncle Marty, Trevor started racing quarter-midgets and dirt bikes after his eighth birthday. He graduated to Legends cars after he turned 13, and at 15 won the Southern California Youth Regionals, a championship he would win again the next year.
