The World Stock Car Lites is a second-tier stock car racing series organized by the World Stock Car Association. The championship was introduced in 1977, following the purchase and rebranding of the American Stock Car Tour by the World Stock Car Championship.
The WSCL is the primary feeder series to the World Stock Car Championship, and as such, many WSCC teams have technical alliances with teams in the WSCL. The series is designed as an affordable training ground for life in the top-tier World Stock Car Championship; the cars utilize spec engines and chassis so as to allow true driver ability to be reflected.
The highest-rated second-tier series in the ladder system, the WSCL is the only second-tier series that is truly global.
