Changes[edit | edit source]

  • As part of the 2020 WSCTA-WSCA Agreement, the standard two-week break for travel that occurred prior to and after the Pacific and European tours will be dropped. This was due to the contracting of the race weekend into two days, allowing for reduced travel for teams and drivers. This also resulted in the approval of the schedule to expand to as many as 36 races.
  • The Round of New York City, the series finale since 1999 will be discontinued after city officials declined to renew the race contract, citing a post-COVID reassessment of city events. This announcement was massively controversial among fans, as the New York City finale had been among the most well-attended events every year it was held. Its place in the finale was announced late in 2021 to be the Round of Pennsylvania at the Lincoln Financial Raceway.
