Mercury is a defunct division of the Ford Motor Company created in 1938 to bridge the price gap between the Ford and Lincoln brands. From 1945 until 2010, Mercury formed half of the Lincoln-Mercury division, which had a separate sales network from Ford. The brand would share parts with both Ford and Lincoln vehicles to save costs, and Mercury vehicles were often sold as counterparts to both brands.

Mercury was discontinued in the summer of 2010, with the final Mercury rolling off the assembly line in January 2011.
